Manga Craft — Terms of Use
Effective 13 September 2026 · Version 1.0 · Oddly Effective LLC
These are the rules for using Manga Craft. They are short, and they are written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because terms nobody can read protect nobody.
By downloading or playing Manga Craft you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not play — and if you have already paid for something, write to start@oddlyeffective.com and we will sort it out.
Our privacy policy is a separate page and is part of these terms: https://oddlyeffective.com/manga-craft/privacy
1. The short version
- Manga Craft is licensed to you, not sold. You may play it on devices you control.
- There is no account. We do not know who you are and we do not try to find out.
- What you build is yours. We claim no ownership of your worlds, drawings or screenshots.
- Things you buy are a licence, not property. They live in the game, not in your bank.
- Refunds come from Apple or Google, not from us — they took the payment.
- Some packs cause a real-world act. We buy a service from a commercial supplier when you buy one. We say what we buy and we do not claim it is a donation.
- Adverts are optional, non-personalised for everybody, and you never have to watch one.
- If something here is wrong or unclear, tell us and we will fix the page.
2. Who we are
Manga Craft is published by Oddly Effective LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States.
Contact for anything in this document: start@oddlyeffective.com — a person reads it.
Our registered business address is on file with the App Store and Google Play and is shown on our store listings. If you need it in writing for a formal request, ask and we will send it.
Throughout this page, "we", "us" and "our" mean Oddly Effective LLC. "You" means the person playing. "The game" means the Manga Craft application and anything we supply inside it.
3. Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on devices you own or control, for your own entertainment.
That is the whole grant. You do not buy the game itself, and you do not acquire any ownership of it. Everything not expressly granted here stays with us.
The licence lasts until it ends under section 16.
4. What you may not do
Please do not:
- Copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute the game or any part of it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except exactly as far as the law where you live says you may despite a term like this one.
- Modify the game to cheat a purchase — to unlock things you have not paid for, to fake a receipt, or to grant yourself items the game does not give you.
- Attack our services, or anyone else's, through the game.
- Use the game to break the law, or to harass, threaten or abuse another player.
- Strip out or alter our notices, credits or marks.
Building whatever you like in your own world is not on this list, and never will be.
5. What you make in the game
Your worlds, your buildings, your drawings and your screenshots are yours. We claim no ownership of them. We do not upload them, we do not look at them, and we do not use them for anything.
If you choose to share a screenshot or a world publicly — on social media, or by giving a friend a Story Code — that is your decision and your content. You are responsible for what you share.
The one thing we ask: if you post something made in Manga Craft, we would love it if you said so. That is a request, not a term.
Everything else in the game is ours — the code, the art, the sounds, the blocks, the creatures, the Sealed Suits, the name "Manga Craft", and the look of the thing. Those are protected by copyright and trade mark law and are licensed to you under section 3, not given to you.
6. Buying things
The game sells optional extras. Nothing in the game is required to play it.
Where the money goes. Every purchase is processed by Apple or Google, depending on where you got the game. We never see your card, your billing address or your name. The price you see at the moment of purchase is the price that applies, in your own currency, including any tax the store adds.
What you are buying. Every purchase is a licence to use an item inside the game. It is not property, it is not an investment, it has no cash value, and it cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money — by you or by us.
Delivery. Items appear in the game once the store confirms the payment. If a purchase is taken and the item does not arrive, write to us; we will make it right.
Consumables are consumed. Blocks, seeds, crates and one-off items are used up when you use them. Restoring purchases brings back the things that last — it does not refill something you have already spent.
Prices change. We may change prices, add products or stop selling a product at any time. A change never affects something you have already bought.
7. The subscription
Manga Craft offers an optional subscription with a monthly and a yearly plan.
- It is billed to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You cancel in the store, not in the game. Apple: Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Google: Play Store › Payments and subscriptions.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Only the store can do that.
- If a free trial is ever offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where the store applies that rule.
What the subscription gives you is described on the purchase screen at the time you buy. If we ever remove something a live subscription included, you may cancel and we will not renew you.
8. Refunds
We cannot issue refunds, because we never received your money — the store did.
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: Play Store › Order history, or play.google.com/store/account
Each store has its own refund policy and its own time limits, and their decision is final. Where the law where you live gives you a refund right that the store's policy does not cover, that right still applies and we will help you exercise it — write to us.
If a refund is granted, the item goes away. We remove whatever the purchase granted, including any real-world act that had not yet been carried out (see section 9).
9. Packs that cause something in the real world
Some packs in the game cause us to buy a real-world service after you buy them. The purchase screen says exactly what that is and in what quantity.
Read this carefully, because it is the part people most often assume wrongly:
- You are buying in-game items. The price is the price of the items. The real-world act is something we do, out of our own funds, because you bought them.
- This is not a donation. You are not donating. We are not a charity, we do not collect donations, and no part of your payment is a charitable contribution. Nothing here is tax-deductible for you.
- We buy from commercial suppliers. The organisations we buy from are ordinary for-profit companies selling a service. We do not name them in the game, and we do not tell you that your purchase benefits any named charity — because that is not what happens.
- We state amounts, not outcomes. We will tell you what we bought and how much of it. We do not promise any environmental, climate or ecological result, because no honest seller can promise one.
- There is a delay, and it is deliberate. We wait before buying anything real, and we ask the store again whether your purchase is still valid. A refunded or reversed purchase causes nothing to be bought.
- Caps apply. We set a ceiling on what we spend per day. If it is reached, the act is queued rather than cancelled.
- If a supplier cannot fulfil, we will substitute an equivalent service or tell you.
If any of this is unclear on a purchase screen, the purchase screen is wrong and we want to hear about it.
10. In-game money and items
The game has an in-game currency. It cannot be bought. It is earned by playing, and that is deliberate — we do not sell progress.
In-game currency and items:
- have no cash value and are not money, credit or a payment instrument;
- cannot be exchanged for real money, goods or services outside the game, by anyone;
- cannot be transferred or sold to another player;
- may be adjusted, reset or removed if they were obtained through a bug, a cheat or a reversed payment.
We may change how much anything earns, costs or does, as part of balancing the game.
The game shows optional adverts we call sponsor pages. You choose to watch one in exchange for in-game money. You are never forced to watch one, and nothing in the game is locked behind watching one.
- Adverts are non-personalised for everybody, in every country. There is no setting that turns personalisation on, because we did not build one.
- There is a daily limit on how many you can watch.
- Subscribers are never offered one.
- The advert itself comes from an advertising network, not from us. We do not choose the individual advert and we are not responsible for its content. If you see something objectionable, tell us and we will pass it on.
Section 11 of our privacy policy explains what the advert network does and does not receive.
12. Playing with other people
The game lets you play with people you invite using a Story Code.
- You choose who to give a Story Code to. Anyone with the code can join that world.
- The host has control of the shared world, including who stays in it.
- Be decent to each other. Harassment, threats, hate and attempts to break another player's world are not acceptable, and we may end the licence of anyone doing them.
- We do not monitor sessions, we do not record them, and we cannot police them in real time. That is a consequence of collecting nothing about you, and it is a trade we made deliberately.
- You are responsible for who you invite. Do not share a Story Code with strangers.
13. Your saved worlds
Your worlds are saved on your device.
- If you delete the app, your worlds go with it. We do not hold a copy and we cannot restore one.
- If your device is lost or wiped, the worlds are lost. We are sorry, and there is nothing we can do — we have no copy because we never took one.
- Any cloud backup is provided by your device's operating system, under its own terms, not by us.
We consider this an acceptable price for not asking who you are. If you disagree, that is a fair position, and the privacy policy explains the reasoning.
14. Age
Manga Craft is suitable for a general audience and is rated accordingly on each store.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only play with a parent's or guardian's permission, and they are agreeing to these terms with you.
- Purchases need a bill-payer's permission. If you are not the bill-payer, get their permission before buying anything.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not collect personal information from anybody, which is the cleanest way to keep that promise.
- Parents: both stores provide purchase controls and passwords. We recommend using them.
15. Changes to the game
We may update, change, add to or remove parts of the game. Games are not finished objects, and this one will keep changing.
We may also stop supporting the game or shut down its online services in future. If we do, we will give reasonable notice on our store listings where we can. Your installed copy will keep working for as long as your device and operating system allow — we do not switch off single-player.
16. Ending this agreement
You may end it at any time by deleting the game.
We may end it, or suspend your access to online features, if you materially break these terms — in particular section 4. Where the breach can be fixed and is not deliberate, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
If we end your licence for a breach, purchases are not refunded. If we end it for any other reason, or shut the game down, you may ask the relevant store for a refund of anything you bought that you have not been able to use.
Sections 5, 10, 17, 18 and 19 survive the end of this agreement.
17. The game is provided as it is
We provide Manga Craft "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of anything harmful, or that defects will be corrected.
This section does not take away rights you have by law that cannot be taken away. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have other rights that vary by jurisdiction.
18. Limits on what we owe you
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost worlds, however caused.
- Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the game is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid us for the game in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law where you live says may not be excluded.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. If you live in one, they do not apply to you.
19. Disputes and governing law
Talk to us first. Most problems are a mistake, not a dispute, and we would rather fix it than argue about it. Write to start@oddlyeffective.com and give us 30 days.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you and we each consent to that venue.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may be entitled to bring proceedings there. Nothing here waives a right you cannot waive.
EU and UK residents may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, and may bring proceedings in their own country's courts.
20. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and Oddly Effective LLC only — not with Apple and not with Google.
For the App Store version, the following also applies, because Apple requires it:
- Apple is not responsible for the game or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the game.
- If the game fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the game.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the game, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- If a third party claims the game infringes their intellectual property, Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of that claim.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any US Government restricted party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
- Your use must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
For the Google Play version, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the game.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update this page. When we do, we change the version number and the effective date at the top, and we say what changed.
For a change that materially reduces your rights, we will give notice in the game before it takes effect. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop playing and delete the game — and if you have paid for something you can no longer use, write to us.
